The Original Green Clean Machine

Since launching in 2024, STAX Engineering has become a familiar presence across California ports. Our signature green barges are now a staple of port operations, working alongside ships to capture harmful emissions while they’re docked.

Along the way, we’ve helped customers meet regulatory requirements and delivered cleaner air to the communities that live and work around ports, all without vessel retrofits, operational downtime, or added strain on the grid.

Now, we’re entering our next phase as a company.

We’re expanding into new locations and extending our technology beyond criteria pollutants like particulate matter and NOx to include CO₂ capture, scaling a system built to deliver immediate environmental impact, not distant promises.

To mark this moment, and to clearly articulate what we do, we’re rolling out a new tagline:

The Original Green Clean Machine.

Here’s what we mean by every word.

The Original

First-of-its-kind emissions capture and control technology.

From day one, STAX was built to address one of the maritime industry’s most persistent challenges: emissions from ships at berth.

Rather than waiting for new vessels, new fuels, or major infrastructure upgrades, we engineered a system designed to work in real port environments – today. STAX is the only emissions capture and control fleet certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for multiple vessel classes: container ships, auto carriers, and tanker vessels.

Through our proven operations, we’re proud to have established a practical, deployable path for emissions capture at scale.  That innovation is protected by a growing portfolio of patents covering STAX’s core system design, operational methods, and emissions capture architecture, reinforcing the originality of our approach.

Green

A visible signal of cleaner air.

Our signature green barges are designed to make emissions reduction visible in port environments where pollution is often unseen. The color signals action at the dock: exhaust is being captured and controlled in real time.

The powder coating used on our booms inspired our brand color: Reingrün—Pure Green—reflecting the system’s focus on air purity, health, and safety at the point of highest impact. Green also represents growth and renewal, signaling a fresh, innovative approach that works in harmony with both port operations and the natural environment.

As STAX expands, our green barge has become a recognizable marker of innovation designed to protect communities while fitting seamlessly into how ports operate today.

Clean

High-efficiency emissions capture and control.

Our technology delivers immediate environmental benefit without waiting on long-term infrastructure or fuel transitions. By capturing and controlling ship exhaust at berth, we reduce up to 99% of harmful pollutants—including particulate matter and NOx—where emissions are most concentrated, while allowing vessels and ports to operate as they do today.

This approach supports near-term climate and air-quality goals while complementing longer-term decarbonization efforts. It’s not a substitute for future solutions, but a critical bridge that delivers measurable impact now.

Machine

Engineered systems built to operate at scale.

Our systems are designed to serve major vessel classes, with the flexibility to support a wide range of maritime operations. They are mobile and adaptable, allowing deployment across ports without requiring vessel retrofits or operational downtime.

In operation, the system delivers measurable, repeatable air-quality improvements while ports and vessels continue to operate without disruption. Machine means performance you can rely on, proven in the field and ready to scale.
